Cana in Japan
Konnichiwa!
I'm Cana, a pre-service teacher from Central Luzon State University.
My real name is Bea Bianca A. Bolante, and I am currently taking Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in English at CLSU. I am currently 21 years old, turning 22 this April 9th. I am from Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija, one to two hours away from CLSU. I am also the current President of an organization at CLSU called CLSU-Society for the Advancement of Japanese Arts and Culture.

I always tell anyone who asks that I don't really have any dreams in life. I'm the type of person who just goes with the flow and what life throws at me. That's why my motto in life is actually "Whatever happens, happens."

I have always been a person who has a strong interest in different languages and cultures. That's why when I saw a post by my university's International Affairs Office, I was instantly interested to join. Having the opportunity to go to Japan was surreal and I wanted to be a part of it.

Japan has always been one of my dream countries to visit, having been in love with their culture since I was in grade school, always watching anime and then reading manga when I started high school. People asked if I had any culture shocks when I arrived in Japan and I always said no, which people were shocked with! Of course, having been a person who loved Japan since she was a mere seven years old wouldn't have any problems adapting to the Japanese culture after all!

I am eternally grateful to SEAMEO, the University of Tsukuba, UTSS, and CLSU for the wonderful experience I had during the project! May many pre-service teachers experience the same thing that we did in the future!
